Hi Stella. I love this haiku by itself. Even before I read your thoughts on the haiku and your hopes for the meaning it conveys, I liked the poem by itself. We can interpret it on many levels. Obviously the first level is a winter scene by the sea. But, as you point out, it can also be a metaphor for the problems Greece is facing. I believe this can also be used as a metaphor for the Eurozone as a whole or even the whole of Europe.
